This is the adorable group of us who volunteered to stand in the water and receive the Zodiacs as the came ashore to off load people and supplies. Left to right: John from Raytheon Polar Programs, George, Austen, Kerry (me!), and our resident comedian, Dave. We were just the first in a whole line of volunteers loading supplies into little sleds to drag up the cobble beach to the station itself.
The stellar orange suits are Helly Hanson full emergence suits, which are completely water proof and help us to float.
